Our Team

Matt is the Founder and Portfolio Manager of Greyfeather Capital. Matt’s formal academic background is in mathematics, graduating from the University of Wisconsin – Madison with full honors and Phi Beta Kappa recognition. He attended the Wharton School for his MBA. Matt has spent over a decade researching, originating, and trading empirical/quantitative strategies for equites, futures, and options. When he recognized that Artificial Intelligence had reached a level of predictive capability that no team of humans could match, he pursued a multi-year research effort to build and assess the capacity of AI to capture diverse market signals and develop rigorous probability assessments regarding future stock performance. Greyfeather Capital was born out of this effort. Prior to Greyfeather, a longstanding sense of duty and responsibility compelled Matt to serve others – first in education and then in the military, as a Naval Aviator.

Jeff serves as the Chief Operating Officer for Greyfeather Capital. After completing degrees at the U.S. Naval Academy and MIT, he served as a Naval Officer onboard USS Rhode Island, a ballistic missile submarine. Subsequently, as a member of the Chief of Naval Operations staff at the Pentagon, he managed the financial planning and budgeting for Submarine Rescue and Diving Systems. After leaving the service and earning his MBA at the Wharton School, Jeff worked at Amazon as an operations manager, learning the principles and process improvement tactics of the world's largest distributor. Leaving for an opportunity to work with the Chief Financial Officer of Vitalyst, a software consulting firm, Jeff has significant experience developing quantitative models to track financial planning, compliance, accounting, and operations.
